The ePush is a small electrically propelled trailer that attaches quickly to virtually any bicycle. The ePush trailer contains the battery, motor and electronics that assists the rider at a speed of up to 25 km/h with a range of 50-60 km/charge. The speed is controlled by a throttle clamped to the handlebar grip. Once the trailer hitch is clipped on the bicycle, the ePush connects and disconnects in seconds; it is easily removed for transport, safekeeping, and charging and can be shared among different bicycles in a few minutes without tools. The trailer’s clip-on panniers allow for about 10 kg baggage and can also serve as carrying baskets.

Our goal is to produce a durable, low-maintenance product that is easily repaired. Metal parts are preferred over plastic where possible. The ePush is an accessory to a bicycle that, due to its smaller size and weight, inherently has a lower life-cycle energy cost than an equivalent electric bicycle.

The ePush’s suspension mechanism provides traction by design rather than via the trailer’s weight. This guarantees traction allowing for safe, smooth, and nearly unnoticeable riding even on rough roads and under other challenging riding conditions.


Patent applications concerning the stability and traction mechanism have been approved in Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands

STATUS OF THE PROJECT

The Research and Development of the ePush is nearly completed and we are now planning to manufacture 30 units. For this pilot project we are looking for a partnership/joint venture and for additional financial support.
